Language trip to the UK

I offer language trips to Bournemouth on the south coast of England, as well as multi – city trips to London/ Windsor, Winchester/ Salisbury & Stonehenge. You can combine improving your English with a wonderful holiday immersing yourself in the language. See the beautiful Jurassic Coast and visit the most historic must-see cities in the south of England. I know these cities well, so let me be your guide.

Stay in a small, friendly, family run ‘bed and breakfast’ hotel (rated ‘fabulous’ on Booking), which is a 5-minute walk from Bournemouth bus/train station and a 10-minute walk to the sea/ centre. Choose to come for 5/ 7 nights or 12/14 nights if you prefer one week in Bournemouth and one ‘Multi-City’ week visiting London/ Windsor, Winchester/ Salisbury & Stonehenge.

You will fully immerse yourself in English by using the language all week and following a daily programme which includes:

breakfast together, followed by
4 English lessons in the hotel each morning *
3 hours of accompanied leisure activities in the afternoon/ evening enjoying a meal out together each day.

By speaking English all day, you will be using the language authentically enabling you to improve and gain confidence in a fun and natural way.

I will be there in case you need any guidance and support, and you will be ‘learning by doing’, ensuring active learning as you go.

*Please note: Multi-city trip weeks include some full days out, so we will not have English lessons in the hotel these days but will be actively using the language all day. The train journey on these routes is between 45 minutes and 1 hour 50 and I will accompany you all day ( = 6 hours or more e.g. London is an 8 hour plus day)

Getting there

Flights & transport not included and to be arranged by participants (no visa for EU citizens, but full passport needed). Bournemouth is a direct, regular 2 hour ‘National Express’ bus journey from London Heathrow Airport.

The price above is based on 6 to 8 adults in the group for the dates listed & includes:

English lessons (Monday – Friday)
accompanied on leisure activities (Monday – Friday)
hotel stay in your own double room with en suite bathroom and breakfast, as well as a sunset welcome drink

Anything not explicitly mentioned in the paragraph above is not included in the price e.g. transport to, from and around Bournemouth, meals and drinks out (which range from 10 to 25 Euros per meal)

Thursday	Breakfast together 4 English lessons	Train to Poole Harbour (Europe’s largest natural harbour): visit the old town, including the Poole Arms pub. Optional boat tour.
Friday	Breakfast together 4 English lessons	Coastal walk through Bournemouth’s winter gardens and tropical gardens. Meal out together.

Please note

Continental breakfast is included, or you can order ‘Full English’ breakfast’ the day before for £7.50 per meal. Other meals, drinks and all travel costs are at your own expense. Every day we will enjoy breakfast together as well as a meal out. There is a nice restaurant opposite the hotel and a supermarket just 5 minutes away on foot.

My progress in English improved a lot. I was very unsure about the grammar tenses before. I am be able to use the grammar tenses in a more certain way and a few days later also. I would rate the teaching quality very high and the exercises were our level.

UK Multi – City Trip: October 2024

The teaching quality was excellent and varied e.g. the games. The teaching activities were variable and depended on the participant’s decisions. I found that very nice. The last game ‘Jeopardy’ (a summary of the week) was very profitable.

In short situations I was able to think and react. The role play was realistic and it was good that we were different levels. I found that very enriching.

We were a nice group and everyone was charming, including the host. The weather was also wonderful, so it was a beautiful trip

Bournemouth Language Trip: June 2024

This week helped my self – confidence, increased my understanding of native speakers and improved my everyday English. This type of immersive English language trip improved my language: better use of different tenses and refreshed my vocabulary.

We went on nice excursions on the coast, around Bournemouth and in Winchester. The teaching quality and activities were excellent.

Bournemouth Language trip: June 2024

The course was interesting and varied. Intensive in the sense that we had to concentrate for 3 hours (180 minutes) every morning. In the afternoon, we went on excursions and got to know the surroundings and the typical English food.

Lisa explained to us the customs and habits of the country.

After the English lessons, I gained more confidence in speaking English (this week) and also felt more confident to get involved in conversation.

One or two weeks leads to a great success and learning effect in contrast to a weekly course. Suddenly, you start to think in English and as a result you don’t feel so foreign in this language. This is the goal, which I have fully achieved.
