About Lisa - Learn Active English

Hello, I’m Lisa, a British native speaker of English, with 13 years’ experience in teaching English as a foreign language.

I find it thoroughly rewarding to see how much my learners improve and gain confidence in their English to help them in their working and private lives. For example, I taught English to a German paediatric nurse, who then went on to volunteer in a children’s hospital in India. This was a life-changing experience for her and she went on to become a children’s doctor.

I enjoyed our trip to Bournemouth very much in a lovely little hotel, where we also had our lessons. It was super to speak from the beginning of the day until the evening constantly English. The lessons in the morning were great fun – with lots of entertaining interludes, games or things like that and it was never „schoolish“…, at the same way we learned a lot.

What was positive for me was that the days in Bournemouth followed a clear schedule. Included breakfast, lessons, lunch, excursions and dinner. The local excursions, such as visiting Old Harry Rocks and Swanage, as well as dinner on the pier, were highlights of the trip.

Nice environment, bright room, the host were helpful, no interruption or external noises. It was a friendly and open guesthouse, and all request were made. The guest house made it a very pleasant experience. The accommodation was very clean.
